Grab your hiking boots and camera for an active getaway in the beautiful state of Oregon!

Waterfall Hikes
One of the best ways to experience Oregon's nature is by hiking to magnificent waterfalls. We laced up early to tackle the Trail of Ten Falls at Silver Falls State Park, passing behind curtains of cascading water. At Multnomah Falls, the tallest in the state, we took steep switchbacks up to Benson Bridge with views down 620 feet of falling water! For more solitude, we ventured to lesser-known Falls Creek Falls. Oregon has over 200 awe-inspiring waterfalls to explore.
Oregon Coast Drive
We rented a zippy Mazda Miata Convertible from a local owner and drove the winding Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. With the top down, we cruised along beaches, rocky cliffs, and charming coastal towns. Highlights included the mystical evergreen forests of Cannon Beach, searching for starfish in tide pools, finding the Goonies house in Astoria, and devouring fresh seafood everywhere.
Camping Resort Escape
After so much activity, we checked into the delightful Mt. Hood Village RV Resort. Our site was tucked away in the pine forest and offered long morning walks with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. They have a tasty diner and camp store and lots of amenities on site. This is also a gated resort which made us feel secure and comfy. We swam, rented kayaks, and cozied up around the fire pit.
Wine Tasting
No trip to Oregon is complete without visiting wine country! We sampled silky Pinot Noirs and Syrah's at wineries near Mt. Hood. Many were small, family-run estates with friendly tasting rooms and breathtaking sceneries.

Local Breweries
There are a variety of local breweries to choose from with many unique brews from dark, rich porters to hoppy, citrusy IPA's. We enjoyed a beer flight at Mt. Hood Brewery on the deck which offered views of the mountain and majestic pine forests. I especially like the presentation of the flight. We ordered some delicious burgers.
Mt. Hood Adventures
Our last stop was Mt. Hood, Oregon’s highest peak. We drove up to majestic Timberline Lodge, gorged on huckleberry crepes, and took the chairlift up for mountain views. We ended the action-packed trip with a peaceful hike around Lost Lake and Trillium Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest.
With incredible natural sights, delicious local cuisine, and a convertible for driving scenic byways, this Oregon tour showcased the very best of the Beaver State. We can’t wait to return and explore more! Has anyone else fallen in love with Oregon? Where did you go and what would you recommend? Share in the comments!
